Economics Student Council
The Student Council of the Department of Economics at Chung-Ang University is composed of five departments under the leadership of the President and Vice President: the Education Department, Daily Affairs Department, Student Welfare Department, Editorial & Public Relations Department, and Accounting & General Affairs Department. The Student Council is responsible for planning and executing various projects for the benefit of economics students and organizing events that enhance student life and engagement.
The Education Department aims to improve the quality of education for current students. It manages the “Mentors” program (providing information on double majors, exchange programs, etc.), mentoring between upperclassmen and underclassmen, and academic notifications for the department. It also runs the “Economics Bookstore” project, facilitating secondhand textbook exchanges.
The Daily Affairs Department focuses on easing students’ day-to-day inconveniences and boosting their campus life experience. It is in charge of snack distribution projects, the “Economics Pharmacy,” and managing departmental supplies. The department also oversees the lockers and bulletin boards of the department and strives to maintain regular communication with students through monthly reports and feedback.
The Student Welfare Department is dedicated to improving student welfare. It manages the computers and printers in the student council room, organizes the production of department apparel (such as varsity jackets and winter coats), and operates the A4 paper distribution project.
The Editorial & Public Relations Department is responsible for communicating all Student Council initiatives, events, and relevant information to students. Its duties include creating academic calendars, designing posters, and managing the department’s official Instagram account.
The Accounting & General Affairs Department handles the Student Council’s finances. It prepares monthly budget and settlement reports, manages spending and receipts to ensure transparency, and also oversees the management of the department’s seminar room.
The Student Council President and Vice President oversee the operations and events of all five departments. In addition, they work closely with the Department of Economics office and the Head Professor of the department to advocate for students’ rights and improve their overall experience and convenience.

Department of Economics Circle – La Naissance
Every Tuesday, we gather to share things we normally can’t say aloud. Sometimes we talk about a cultural or artistic work. Other times, we confide in each other, listen to worries, and have deep, thoughtful conversations. Some days, we reflect on personal struggles, other days, we discuss broader societal issues.
If you’ve ever had thoughts you couldn’t bring yourself to share with anyone—La Naissance might be the space that will listen.
If you want to appreciate art and talk with others about it—La Naissance will be your platform for conversation.
