The Korean Labor Economics Association established the Baemugi Academic Award in honor of the late Professor Baemugi and his spirit of “seeking truth from facts.” Each year since 2006, the award has been presented at the Association’s annual general meeting to recognize an outstanding paper published in the Korean Journal of Labor Economics during the previous year that demonstrates excellence in theoretical advancement or policy development in labor economics.
The award-winning paper empirically analyzes the impact of artificial intelligence (AI) adoption on firm growth and employment, providing systematic evidence on how technological change affects firm performance and labor market outcomes. The study was recognized for its academic significance and contribution to the field of labor economics.

This achievement highlights the outstanding research accomplishments of scholars trained in Chung-Ang University’s doctoral program in economics and underscores the School of Economics’ continued research excellence.
