On July 14, 2025, the Department of Economics held the Course Top Student Award Ceremony in Room 903, Building 310.

A total of 15 award recipients and seven faculty advisors attended the ceremony to celebrate the students’ achievements.

Beginning in the Spring Semester of the 2025 academic year, the department introduced the Course Top Student System to encourage academic excellence and enhance scholarly competitiveness. Under this system, awards are presented only for courses taught by full-time faculty members and only when the course instructor nominates a student for the award. The program recognizes and honors students who achieve the highest academic performance in each course, with the aim of fostering a stronger academic culture within the department.

Prior to the award presentations, Dean Sun Go of the Department of Economics congratulated the students, stating, “You all worked very hard to become the top students in your respective courses, and I sincerely congratulate you. For students who receive top honors in two or more courses, we are planning to offer additional recognition, such as a highest distinction award at graduation. I encourage you to continue your diligent studies and achieve even greater results.”

During the ceremony, Professors Changhee Kang, Sun Go, Sujin Kim, Jiwoong Moon, Won-ho Song, and Hoon Choi personally presented certificates to the top students in each course.

All recipients were awarded Course Top Student Certificates, followed by a commemorative photo session. The event concluded with a luncheon for faculty and students.
