The 2025 CAU Labor–Public Economics International Conference, hosted by the Department of Economics at Chung-Ang University, was successfully held on Thursday, August 28, in Room 721, Building 310 at Chung-Ang University.

The conference served as a forum for sharing research findings across a wide range of fields, including labor economics, education and health economics, and public economics. Renowned scholars and researchers from Korea and abroad participated, presenting cutting-edge research and exchanging valuable academic insights.
The program featured a number of internationally oriented sessions, including an analysis of the effects of Japan’s working hours reduction policy by Professor Daiji Kawaguchi of the University of Tokyo; research on the opioid crisis and labor markets by Professor Geunyong Park of the National University of Singapore; and a study on identity and ideology within corporate boards by Professor Minsun Park of the University of Michigan.
In addition, the graduate student session highlighted research presentations by doctoral students Youngju Lim, Eunji Yoo, and Saerom Ahn from the Department of Economics at Chung-Ang University. Their studies addressed major social issues in Korea, including social safety nets, the Itaewon crowd disaster, and the housing market, drawing significant attention from attendees.

Researchers from Japan, Singapore, Taiwan, the United States, and China participated in the conference, engaging in lively interdisciplinary discussions. The event provided a meaningful platform for expanding international research exchange and collaboration.
The conference further strengthened the international academic network of the Department of Economics at Chung-Ang University and is expected to contribute to deeper research and the promotion of international collaborative studies in the fields of labor and public economics.
